Puto Cheese

soft and buttery

I made some today for my friend Ann.

Sharing the recipe which I got from a fellow girltalker.

You will need:

3 cups all purpose flour
1 1/2 cup white sugar
2  tbsp baking powder
3 eggs or egg white only- today I used egg whites
1/2 cup melted butter
3 cups fresh milk or evaporated milk
Eden cheese (for toppings)
puto mold (I got them from the Philippines)
steamer

Procedure:

1. Mix the dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, sugar). Sift.
2. Put eggs, milk and butter. Mix the batter well.
3. Put the batter in small muffin pans and let it steam for 10 minutes or until inserted toothpick becomes clear.
4. Put cheese on top and let it steam again until the cheese melts.

Egg with Ampalaya

Yum!

After a long time, I have finally had egg with ampalaya. Thanks God. And thanks to my good friend Emy. She bought them from Seafood City in Sacramento, California.

A lot of people don't like ampalaya because of its bitter taste but I am the other way. I love ampalaya. I can eat it raw or grilled, of course with vinegar and salt, tomato and onion.

How about you? Do you also like ampalaya?

Thanks for visiting!

Pork Barbecue Pinoy Style (with Veggies)

I'm glad I have found this recipe online. Thanks to this website. I had half a pound of pork only so I had to make "estimation or calculation" on how much to use for each ingredients. In tagalog "tantya2x lang" based on your desired taste. You may visit the source of this recipe for the exact measurement.

You will need:

Pork
soy sauce
garlic (smashed)
lemons or kalamansi
7 up or pineapple juice
ground black pepper
brown sugar
banana ketchup
Veggies like zucchini, bell pepper and white onion (optional)
bamboo skewers (soaked overnight to avoid burning)

Directions:
Combine all ingredients thoroughly except Pork. Pour marinade unto pork. Cover and marinate overnight. Grill until meat is done.

Tips: While grilling, baste the pork with the remaining marinade for more flavoring.

If with veggies, slice them according to the photo shown above, put them in a bowl, season with salt and pepper, add in a little olive oil and herb then refrigerate for a few hours or overnight before grilling them with the pork.

Thanks for the visit!

Creamy Ice Candy

mango and peanut flavor

Since the summer has began, I have made ice candy more than 5 times already. And I could eat 5 pieces continuously while watching TFC. Geez. Yep, I eat a lot!

You wanna make some? Visit my other blog here. You may omit the nestle cream but make sure to stir all ingredients thoroughly to make it creamy.

Cheese Crisps

Yesterday, hubby made some cheese crisps for our snacks. My daughter Jen used to make cheese crisps for her daddy when she was here still in the US.

If you love cheese, you may want to try this recipe.

You will need:

medium sized Flour tortillas
butter
cheese- any kind
mexican sauce or hot sauce
whole green chili (canned) -  I omitted this ingredient because it was unavailable in my pantry.

Instructions:

Please do refer to the photos below.

Spread butter evenly over the flour tortilla

Turn it over. Then spread cheese. (Just refer to the photo how to do it)

I used tabasco hot sauce in my tortilla

Hubby put cheese and cooked ground beef in his tortilla

And he used chipotle sauce.

Bake for 8 minutes then turn it over for 4 minutes, a total of 12 minutes cooking time.

They're really good!

Thanks for dropping by.
